The King George Animal Rescue League is looking for animal lovers who want to volunteer their time to help the animals in our area!

Help is needed on the following committees:

Adoption Committee 
Review applications and call references 
Help out at PetSmart adoption events
Transport KGARL animals to and from adoption events 
Contact families that have adopted from KGARL to see how the animal is doing

Fundraising Committee
Set up fundraising events
Solicit companies for donations
Mail out fundraising letters
Coordinate volunteers
Volunteer at events
Set up a donation box at a public location

Spay/Neuter Committee 
Return phone calls to people that require assistance
Manage the spay/neuter database and send out vouchers  
Advertise our spay/neuter program 

Foster Committee 
Check on current foster pets
Deliver supplies to foster homes  
Recruiting new foster homes 

Grant Committee 
Find new grants 
Submit grant applications
Create grant follow-up reports

Website Committee 
Keep the website up to date 
Respond to posts on the forum

Shelter Committee 
Take pictures of animals at the King George Shelter 
Contact breed rescues for animals at the shelter
Post pictures of shelter animals to forums and message boards 
Coordinate the transfer of animals out of the pound into other rescue groups 
Transport animals to other rescue groups from the shelter
 
General Help
Hand out flyers
Spread the word about our group
Foster a KGARL animal
Return phone calls
Become an officer

To become a volunteer, please read the section below on our membership process. We ask that all volunteers complete our membership application so that we know what your skills are and what you are interested in doing for our group.  

BECOME A KGARL MEMBER!

KGARL is pleased that you are considering joining us in our crusade to improve the conditions for homeless animals in King George and surrounding counties! We have two types of membership categories:

Associate Members can participate in any KGARL activity, and can volunteer to help with any KGARL committee.  Associate Members do not pay annual dues, they do not foster animals and they do not vote or run for KGARL board positions. 

Active Members have all the benefits of Associate Members, as well as the ability to foster animals, participate in our annual elections and hold officer positions. Active Members are required to pay dues at the beginning of every year.

Filling out an application is the first step in our membership application process.  You can either apply online or request a copy of the application by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  or calling 888-KGARL-VA. Your application will be reviewed and a board member will contact you with the status of your application. If you are applying for active membership, upon approval you can pay your yearly dues to the Treasurer at the next KGARL meeting or through the PayPal link (the orange Donate button) on our home page.
